Oriole SWISS CHARD Seed

USED AS GREENS: This brightly colored Oriole Swiss Chard can be used as an ornamental as well as a vegetable. Leaves are medium green with a bright orange stem. Oriole Swiss Chard has a milder flavor than other Chards and is suitable for fresh salad greens as well as cooked like spinach.
SOWING ... Plant Oriole Swiss Chard seed outdoors in a sunny location, as soon as ground can be worked. Plant in rows 18 inches apart, spacing seed 1 inch apart in row. Cover seed with 1/2 inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until seeds start to grow. May be planted throughout the summer.
THINNING ... Thin Oriole Swiss Chard 10 to 12 inches apart in the row, when the plants are 3 to 4 inches tall.
GERMINATION ... Oriole Swiss Chard seed germinates in 10 to 15 days depending on soil temperature and weather conditions.
REMARKS ... Chard replaces spinach during the hot summer months. Make cuttings of mature Oriole Swiss Chard leaves about 1 inch above the ground and new chard leaves will form. The chard plants will then grow new stems and leaves, allowing continuous harvest all season until frost. |

Rainbow SWISS CHARD Seed

USED AS GREENS: This vibrant Rainbow Swiss Chard is attractive in all stages of growth. Most leaves are medium green, some are darker, with stems of yellow, gold, pink, crimson, and various shades in between. Rainbow Swiss Chard has a milder flavor than other Chards and is suitable for fresh salad greens as well as cooked like spinach.
SOWING ... Plant Rainbow Swiss Chard seed outdoors as soon as ground can be worked. Plant in rows 18 inches apart, spacing seed 1 inch apart in row. Cover seed with 1/2 inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until seeds start to grow. May be planted throughout the summer.
THINNING ... Thin Rainbow Swiss Chard to 12 inches apart when plants are 2 inches tall. For ornamental use, select your own color sequence and transplant the color chard 4 to 8 inches apart each way.

REMARKS ... Make cuttings of mature Rainbow Swiss Chard leaves about 1 inch above the ground and new chard leaves will form. For young salad greens, clip chard plants just above the soil. The chard plants will then grow new stems and leaves. |

Lucullus SWISS CHARD Seed

USED AS GREENS: Swiss Chard replaces Spinach during the hot summer months and is as easy to grow as Beets. The leaves are dark green and usually cooked like spinach. The white midribs of Swiss Chard are excellent creamed or as a substitute for Asparagus.
SOWING ... Plant Swiss Chard seed outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked. Plant in rows 18 inches spacing seed 1 inch apart in the row. Cover seed with 1/4 inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until seeds start to grow. Lucullus Swiss Chard seed may be planted as late as mid June.
THINNING ... When Swiss Chard plants are 3 to 4 inches tall, thin to 8 to 10 inches apart in the row.

Purple Top White Globe TURNIP Seed

EXCELLENT EARLY TURNIP VARIETY: Purple Top White Globe Turnip Roots are 3 to 5 inches in diameter, globe shaped, clean and smooth. Upper portion bright reddish-purple, pure white below. Flesh is white, fine textured and tender with a sweet, mild flavor. Tops medium large, erect, dark green of fine flavor. Purple Top White Globe Turnip is an excellent early variety. Seven Top TURNIP Seed
