EDIBLE FLOWERS: Magic Carpet Flower snapdragon is one of the most compact non-hybrid snapdragons. This snapdragon mixed variety is early, colorful, and free blooming. The wide range of wonderful colors make this plant variety an ideal choice for flower beds and borders. Snapdragons do well in full sun or partial shade.

SOWING ... Plant Snapdragon seed outdoors after all danger of frost is past, or start indoors 6 to 8 weeks earlier. Plant seed thinly in rows 12 inches apart. Snapdragon seed is very small and should be barely covered with fine soil, well pressed down. Mist carefully and keep soil moist until seeds start to grow.

THINNING ... When Snapdragon plants are 1 to 2 inches tall, thin or transplant, 3 to 6 inches apart in the row or bed.

GERMINATION ... Snapdragon seed germinates in 12 to 15 days depending on soil temperature and weather conditions. Patience is necessary in this phase.

REMARKS ... Snapdragons prefers rich soil, which is well drained but not to dry. Snapdragons will stand hot weather if set in the garden early enough to allow good root development.

Cleome Spider Flower is an ideal flower for your organic flower garden. Each branch of Cleome produces at the top, a flower head in a delightful shade of pink. The flower bracts turn white before falling. NOTE: The Cleome Spider Flower plants are free from insects and disease.

SOWING ... Sow Cleome Spider Flower seed in late spring in sunny location after all danger of frost is past. May also be started indoors early. Cover seed with 1/8 inch fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until plants start to grow.

THINNING ... When Cleome Spider Flower plants are 2 inches tall, thin or transplant to 1-1/2 to 2 feet apart.

GERMINATION ... Cleome Spider Flower seed germinates in 10 to 18 days depending on soil temperature and weather conditions. Patience is necessary in this phase.

REMARKS ... Cleome Spider Flower is a most attractive bed and border plant. Cleome will bloom continually throughout the summer until frost.

DRIED FLOWERS: Very attractive in the flower bed or flower garden, Everlasting Statice is most widely grown for dried flower use. Tolerant of heat, drought and salt spray. Everlasting Statice flowers grows best in full sun.

SOWING ... Plant Statice seed indoors in early spring. Plant statice seeds thinly in rows, 3 inches apart and cover with 1/4 inch fine soil, well pressed down, as darkness aids germination.

THINNING ... When seedlings are 1 to 2 inches tall, thin Statice to 3 inches apart. After all danger of frost is past, transplant Statice outdoors, 12 inches apart in rows, 12 inches apart.

GERMINATION ... Everlasting Statice flower seed germinates in 14 to 18 days depending on soil temperature and weather conditions. Patience is necessary in this phase.

REMARKS... To dry flowers, cut Statice flower stalk at ground line. Bunch several plants with a rubber band near the base of each, then hang so that flowers are facing downward until dry.

FINEST MIXTURE: Dwarf Ten Weeks Stock Flower is an early variety which forms dwarf compact plants that are excellent for edging or low beds. The sturdy foliage is grayish-green with dense spikes covered with rosette blossoms in a mixture of soft colors.

SOWING ... Sow Stock flower seed outdoors when danger of frost is past or start indoors about 4 weeks earlier. Plant in rows 1 foot apart, spacing seed 1/2 inch in the row. Cover Dwarf Ten Weeks Stock flower seed with 1/8 inch of fine soil, well pressed down. Keep soil moist until plants start to grow.

THINNING ... When Stock flower plants are 2 to 3 inches tall, thin or transplant 1 foot apart.

GERMINATION ... Dwarf Ten Weeks Stock flower seed germinates in 7 to 14 days depending on soil temperature and weather conditions.

REMARKS ... Hot weather is responsible for the blind growth that often disappoints outdoor growers of this flower. Therefore, in areas of hot summers, Dwarf Ten Weeks Stock flower seed should be started indoors.

CUT FLOWERS: Bush type mixture of one of the most popular flowers. Sweet Pea Knee-Hi Mix Flowers can be grown with or without support. Wide color range of fragrant flowers are borne on long stems suitable for cut flowers.

SOWING ... Plant Sweet Pea seed outdoors in Spring as soon as the ground can be worked, or in late Summer for early blooms next year. Sow seed in a trench 6 inches deep, spacing seed about 1 inch apart and cover with 1 inch of fine soil.

THINNING ... When Sweet Pea plants are 5 to 6 inches high, gradually start filling in the trench with soil each week until the ground surface is level. Thin to 6 inches apart. If planted in fall or winter, cover Sweet Pea plants with mulch for protection.
